Our spiral notebooks are 6" x 8" in size and include 120 pages which are lined on both sides. The artwork is printed on the front cover which is made of thick paper stock, and the back cover is medium gray in color. The inside of the back cover includes a pocket for storing extra paper and pens.

Meaning behind the art: Along with the students I expand and contract to each step I take when I put a piece of paper down or add more paint. I honestly like the magazine sketch from the sketchbook at the top of the post better than the darker colors in this piece. Some areas I'm really happy about others I'm not sure of. They say only show your best work...well somewhere along the process who can tell what is your best work...I have favorites and ones that I really am not willing to part with and others people really like and I'm not too keen on them...so I'm about showing them all and letting people see the process. I wanted to call this piece Expand, then I looked up the definition and seen the words Most Extensive and thought it fitting. .
Bio Laura Lein-Svencner was raised in Downers Grove IL not far from her grandfather’s farm and resides now Darien Illinois for the past 30 years. She’s continued with her personal studies in drawing, printmaking, sculpture, papermaking and collage. Seeking inspiration from one artist to another, Laura has pursued her love of paper; this steady pace of exploration has led her to become a member of many local and international collage groups. She also co-founded the Midwest Collage Society which exhibits throughout the Midwest region. Her works has won many awards and most recently the 27th Annual Juried Exhibit with the National Collage Society.
