The ants protect the treehoppers from predators and harvest a sugary secretion from them in return. This gives a whole new meaning to the term ant farm. Here the ants are caring for their livestock.
I am a retired professor at a college in Toronto and taught critical thinking and communications. In the past I also taught literature, creative thinking and problem solving.
