We should respect people, especially Native
American's. They have been treated so poorly throughout our history! We gave them their own land and then we tell them we will put pipelines through it. Don't they have rights too? They have become the forgotten Americans! We should be ashamed!

My artistic work is as an expressive self-portrait painter. Even though my subjects look nothing like me, my work is a form of documentation and journal painting, a study of human behavior. Originally from Brooklyn, New York, I majored in Fine Arts at Brooklyn College, and eventually found myself living and working in Los Angeles. My fascination with faces grew out of an intense desire for expressing myself. I was raised in the 1950s and 1960s when women and children were expected to keep their opinions to themselves. So my mother became my study. Her expressions often shifted, and it seemed that anything could make her face and mood change. So I watched her and all of her moods. Thus my art became my secret communication, with no words...
