This print is beautiful. It's a commonly depicted subject, but it is very special. The composition, tonal quality, and movement are exceptional and evocative. The piece is true to it's title... breathtaking!

I have wanted this for my pro life bulletin board at my Catholic Church and I wasn’t disappointed. It is beautiful and it has so much meaning put in a picture. A picture speaks better then words and this picture says it all. Thanks
Artist's Description
This piece is now finished. It is for an upcoming exhibit at Ontario Shores in conjunction with the Friends of the Second Marsh. On my first visit to the sanctuary I encountered dogs off leash where no dogs were allowed at all. I was miffed at the owners foolishness as I could see the young and offspring of the regular inhabitants of this protected area. I decided to get this point across in this piece where a noble canine has come upon a young family by surprise. I am not sure who is more surprised!! haha The onus remains on the dog owners to protect the delicate wildlife at this sanctuary.
About Diane Daigle
My wish is to connect with the world around me in an emotional sense through my art. In a world where we are judged by those amongst us in such a cold and often heartless way we need to remind ourselves that we are, all of us,,, bound in an emotional whirlpool that ebbs and flows until our last moments. I want to connect with not only those outside my space but with my own inner-space,,, a place so personal it even keeps it's secrets from myself. To explore my own inner world through my art is my dream. Thank you for stopping by my gallery and I hope you have enjoyed sharing my vision through art. Sincerely,,, Diane Daigle

Wonderful good painting! My younger son liked it very much!

I love it, Diane!! We live in an area like that ... where we have bears and wildlife and they are building so there is danger for the dog too with construction and they should be on the leash - I used to walk to the water and then let her run but we were the only ones for miles other than the otters and frogs... we have a stray dog here that is bothering everyone and he does not have a collar or tags - I saw your painting in the WIP thread and LOVE how he turned out - I love his eyes and his surprised little face, looks like my dog when she goes through the bulrushes and finds those geese or a frog - WELL DONE my friend and good statement - your work is speaking ...
Diane Daigle replied:
Hehe,,, well thank you Claire,,, good to 'see' you! :>)

lovely work and excellent message...
Diane Daigle replied:
Hehe,,, thank you Russell and I am sure you know exactly the marsh that inspired me! I may do a little more work,, make it a little less cartoonish but it was fun. Maybe you can make it out to the exhibit at Whitby's Ontario Shores (formerly Whitby Hospital) in 2013. :>)
