Description
A colorful print over the Northwest Passage in northern Canada. The Northwest Passage is a sea transit passage that cuts through the northern waterways of the Canadian Arctic Archipelago. Until the last few years the passage was only passable for a short period each year at the height of summer when the pack ice would melt enough for the passage of ships. Due to a warming climate the passage is now open for much longer and is much more easily to navigate. The area was immortalised in the 1940 of the same name movie starring Spencer Tracy. The Northwest Passage is claimed by Canada, but this is disputed by The United States and Europe who claim it as being international waters so navigable without authority from Canada.
Each print at Art Gallery Earth is an abstract art piece that uses the actual landforms of the area which are then depicted in the print as works of art.
