During his early childhood Carlos and his family lived in Mozambique and Venezuela, they later returned to Portugal where he currently lives. As a child he always drew or painted but he only started to dedicate a rather substantial amount of time to his love of art in 1996. Being autodidactic, he paints a wide range of subject matter such as rail art, electrical trams, naval, military, antique/vintage cars, nostalgic themes, portraiture and traditional Portuguese ceramic tile painting.
