Image from my photo book "the essence of The Green Island", a photographic essay of the island where I was born, with black and white photographs of some of the locations I think are most representative of the beauty of Sao Miguel in the Azores.
Wanting to reveal just the essence of each scene, I chose to present all the photographs in the book in black and white.
Looking over to the west from the top of Pico da Barrosa, one can see the west part of the island of Sao Miguel, with the ocean on both sides and the cities of Lagoa and Ponta Delgada to the left and Ribeira Grande to the right.
