I purchased three of these notebooks for gifts and I am thrilled with the purchase. Everything about the notebook is quality- the paper, the reproduction of the print and the way they were bagged for shipping. I will be back to purchase more soon.

Great.
The woman in this image appears to be in mourning, but is a little too perfect, too plastic behind her veil. I created this digital image using two unrelated photographs. One was of a mannequin head (plastic) in a shop window showing off one of the wigs for sale inside. The other was of a crumpled clear plastic bag. I have no idea why I took that photograph. It really was just a plastic bag hanging from one of those dispensers at a fruit stand. But there it was in one of my folders waiting for a light bulb to go off in my head. I toyed with several alternatives and settled on using a negative image of the bag. It was fun to create the image and I'll skip the discourse on the "plastification" of the image of women in our culture or how "diposable" everything seems to be-- even people. If you have a creative take on this thing, just go with it. :)
Note: The watermark will not appear on the print you purchase.

I see art as not only creation, but also (and maybe primarily) as discovery. For the most part I do collage work and photography, but also enjoy pen and marker drawing, some occasional painting as well as more three dimensional work such as making baskets, dolls, and other objects. As you will see if you wander through my galleries, I have a very wide range of interests. Check out my Artist of the Day feature in Today's Visions.com, curated and written by Mark Myhaver. http://galleries.todaysvisions.com/2014/08/13/todays-featured-artist-sarah-loft/ Some of my artwork appears on products sold at Zazzle. I 'go with this' one, Sarah....can't ignore your intelligence, thoughts so provoking.....what strikes me,personally,is that her gaze seems devoid, empty of care,or,she's avoiding a truth/looking away......such is life itself.....this really intrigues me,too.......well done,f.v......VIVA

Crazily effective. Love the way you work things in, and out. I don't think men have ever or will ever think about men the way women think about women. An unblinking favorite.

Thanks, Ross! I really appreciate the comment.
