I bought this as a gift for my daughter and she loved it. The tuxedo cat painting was beautifully done. The blue and purple background was perfect to showcase the artist rendering of the cat.
Portrait of Gardenia, three quarter length. Sir William Orpen (1878-1931). Oil on canvas. Painted in 1915. 50 1/2 x 40 1/4in. Gardenia St. George, later lady Gunston. She had just discovered that the artist was having an affair with her mother Evelyn St George, and was very upset.
