A field of Queen Anne's Lace is a site in which to stop, muse, and engage in thoughtful contemplation.

Many of us did this as children, you know, but we stopped as we “grew up” and reached adulthood, supposedly with a greater sense of wisdom.

But what could be wiser than slowing down our frenetic pace in life and standing in the midst of a field of flowers, simply taking in the color, the aroma, the quiet interrupted only by the mild buzzing of bees? For some reason, it is no stretch for children to do this, and a wise person, like the woman in the artwork, Queen Anne’s Lace, learns from the actions of children to step away from the busy-ness and connect with the timeless world of nature.

I am a fine art painter who creates representational images celebrating light, life, and color.
