This piece is very true to it's picture very defined. The cup itself is of fine quality as well. The story behind it was beautiful to read. When I look at it, it will take me back to the first time that I saw and read the story. Glad I took the time to purchase. No regrets!
Photography by Gary Mercer. The scene is a rendition of the grove of trees that was light and dark stained on walnut wood in the head piece of an antique mahogany bed frame. The frame was a Queen Anne style. I no longer own the bed, but I wanted to capture the memory of it because so many folks had commented on it over many years.
Art Approach: Love to sketch with charcoals on paper, pastels on paper, and paint with acrylics on canvas panels and regular studio canvas. Have insomnia sometimes and when painting in the middle of the night will sign a sideways 69 next to my signature. I have never had any formal art instruction. I don't like to get caught up in a particular style, because to me that is like producing art with a "cookie cutter". I will not be confined to any particular style. I have my own developed sense of what I wish to paint and how. I love Georgia O'Keefe, Grandma Moses, Alex Grey and Andy Warhol.
