This piece is very true to it's picture very defined. The cup itself is of fine quality as well. The story behind it was beautiful to read. When I look at it, it will take me back to the first time that I saw and read the story. Glad I took the time to purchase. No regrets!
This beautiful half-timbered building was originally the first town hall of Rothenburg ob der Tauber, built by King Konrak lll. The Meat and Dance House, as it is called in English on the corner was the second building built on this site across from the now town hall. The original building burned in 1240. This view is of Rothenburg Square and Rothenburg Fountain.
This second magnificent half-timbered building was built in 1270. With tall vaulted ceilings, the upper level was used as a dance hall for parties and celebrations. The first floor was an open shop for local butchers to sell their meats.
Today, the upper level of the house is used to store colorful costumes that the city uses in annual festivals and historic reenactments. The lower level is now home to the Artist Union which sets up various art galleries. Around the back of the Meat & Dance House you can see the Romanesque Royal Fountain (Hofbrunnen) which was also part of King Conrad’s royal court. As...

I like to travel, so naturally would photograph to document our travels. My before retirement job required I learn the basics of photography and programming using a point and shoot camera.
