Description
Side by side a Royal Tern (Sterna maxima) and a Sandwich Tern (Sterna sandvicenis) in their summer plumage. These birds are often confused due to their similar looks. The major difference is the bill color the Royal Tern has a orange bill and the Sandwich Tern has a black bill and is slightly smaller in overall size.

Lovely shot, Don. Beautiful birds. We have the Caspian Terns at certain times of the year at our national wildlife refuge. Have not had much luck capturing them. They are so fast.
