Description
The white, trumpet-shaped flower of the Sacred Datura (Datura wrightii), also known as Jimson Weed and Angel's Trumpet. These flowers open in early evening, perfuming the air with their sweet scent until they close shortly after sunrise the following morning. The flower may be trimmed in purplish-blue, as shown here with this example found at just before dawn, high in the Santa Rita Mountains of southern Arizona.
