I absolutely love this photo of Hazel. My first visit to the Smoky Mountains was in April 2017. I have been searching for a black bear photo for years and this one stole my heart. This beautiful girl was photographed the same year. I am very pleased with the canvas print!!

Artist's Description
The cold front had passed through and the skies were clearing for just a short while. Gusty northwesterly winds were rolling the turbulent stratocumulus around. There was some residual cold frontal moisture overhead. Some clouds far to the southwest were the start of circulation snowsqualls off Georgian Bay. The snowsqualls developed off Lake Ontario to our south immediately behind the cold front. The Tug Hills east of Lake Ontario get a snootful of snow in these weather situation! There is a reason that we live at Singleton. We miss almost all of the lake effect snowsqualls. Only a squall from 230 degrees off Lake Ontario could possibly reach Singleton and the air originating from the southwest is rarely cold enough to generate significant flurries.
About Phil Chadwick

That special connectivity gets into the pigments and you quickly realize that we are all stewards of the land, privileged to appreciate its beauty during our lifetime but responsible for leaving the environment better off for the future and all inhabitants... Phil was born and raised along the St. Lawrence of Ontario, Canada and studied at Queens University as a nuclear physicist. A meteorologist for Environment Canada for 35 years, Phil specializes in severe weather and training.
