I loved the card. Message inside was perfect (just like I requested) Only comment - the picture seemed too large for the card (glue showing on the side) Next time I will down size the picture. I have ordered many cards from fineartamerica and have been very pleased with the artist selection and quality of the art. Paul Cutright

A female Northern Cardinal perches on a shepherds hook during a snow storm in southern Indiana, USA. If you like this photo, please go to my galleries under "Wildlife" and see more Cardinals and other animals. There is a companion piece for this entitled "Snow Bird II".
This picture is dedicated to Mom, August, 12, 1923-August 29,2009. This was her very favorite photograph. She loved "her" cardinals.
Having grown up in Indianapolis, Indiana and then moving to a rural southern area of that state about 30 years ago I have always loved the outdoors. Being raised by a photographer and painter, my dad, helped me absorb some of the information needed to understand how we see the world. Now, a change in my life has moved me to West Palm Beach Florida where in time I hope to be able explore the natural world in such a different environment. Although I find beauty in many places my first love is the natural world and it's inhabitants. Being an animal lover and sharing much of my life with dogs, horses and exotic birds has made me want to capture them whenever I can. Living in the country over the years I have hand raised every thing from...

Oh, Margaret! This picture was taken with my first digital camera with a fixed lens and around 4 megapixels! She was posed right outside my living windows where all my feeders were. She is the oldest photo on my site but one of the most popular one. So glad you like it. Thank you.

Hi Diane, I'd love to know what lens you used for this image! I absolutely love the painterly feel of Ms. Cardinal. The blend of colors around her neck and breast are lovely. Who says the females' colors are dull?!?!? You've proven them wrong. :)
