Just what I wanted for a new iPhone. A special “Thank You” to artist ‘Serge Averbukh’ for the addition, at my request, to the design of my Navy rating, the lightening bolts (sparks as they are/were called) in the middle of the CPO insignia. I asked; he came through….When I use my phone, it brings back fond memories of my 20-year Navy career…. Thanks Serge….

1. Een looper der Hottentotten 2. Hoe zy met haar Hasfagajen werpen 3. Hoe zy gewoon zyn te vegten. (1. A Walker of the Hottentots 2. How they throw with their Hasfagajen 3. How they'll just sweat.) Peter Kolbe (1675-1726) was a Dutch astronomer and naturalist. He is best remembered for his publication Naauwkeurige beschryving van de Kaap de Goede Hoop. He was appointed as the first official astronomer in South Africa and worked at the Cape between 1705-13, providing a detailed account of day-to-day life at the Cape, also describing the geography, climate, flora and fauna, followed by an accurate study of the Hottentots (Khoikhoi), covering their language, religion, lifestyle and customs. Image appeared in Naauwkeurige beschryving van de Kaap de Goede Hoop by Peter Kolbe, 1727.
