Description
On a recent visit to Rocky Mountain National Park in Colorado, I signed up for a pre-dawn and early morning photo jeep tour. We experienced a beautiful sunrise with an expansive meadow backed by majestic mountain ranges as the setting. As we were leaving because "the sun's too high for good shots now", we drove past these rocks and I noticed that they blocked the rising sun and that the trees on top of them created beautiful silhouettes. "Stop right here", I shouted - maybe I added a "please", but maybe not. I asked the driver to back up just a bit until we were perfectly positioned, and then I got just a few shots before the sun was, indeed, too high.

So lovely, Nikolyn. Glad the driver stopped for you! The purity of the color near the sun is so nice, as are the various silhouettes. The scene has an aura of peace. l/f

Thank you, Claudia. Lovely comment. There were only three of us on that tour and we were related - only two were actually taking photos. It was easy for him to be very accommodating :) But I'm quite glad I delayed our departure for a couple of minutes - I like this one at least as well as and maybe better than the actual sunrise shots LOL
