"Sugartown Shadows, No. 1", is an original watercolor, 22" X 15" on 300-pound Kilimanjaro cold press paper, painted with American Journey and Davinci paints. The painting is one of a series which explores the picturesque restored Colonial village of Sugartown, PA, and the marvelous historical buildings which date from the early 1700s.
Virgil Carter, BWS, PWS, PWCS, TWS, is a watercolor painter, teacher, demonstrator, workshop leader, author and Internet commentator. He paints primarily in watercolor, both en plein aire and from his studio in Boerne, TX. Primarily a representational painter, Virgil paints a variety of subjects, but enjoys most painting landscapes and town/urban subjects. He is concerned with telling stories in paint which share a personal idea, emotion or feeling about each subject. Color and light figure strongly in all of his work.
