Terlingua is an old mining town where the discovery of cinnabar, from which the metal mercury is extracted, in the mid-1880s brought miners to the area, and created a city of 2,000 people at one time. According to the 2010 census, the population was 58. It is now mostly a tourist attraction due to it's close proximity to Big Bend National Park.

Hello, thanks for stopping by! I am a photographer from southeast Texas but I also enjoy creating what I call photoart or mixed media digital art. I love to travel so nature, landscapes, and cityscapes are very common in my photography. I have always enjoyed crafts and creating so taking my photos into photoshop and enhancing them into painterly images or fantasy collages is where I can explore and use those creative skills. I hope that viewing my images will bring you joy and peace, and maybe even a fond memory. I like to think that my work serves a purpose other than decorating someone's wall. John Ford couldn't have done better to show the difficulties and the resolution of living in the West: a plow on barren ground, and you see the strain of steers and humans to carve the tough land to let the life grow. Love it.
