Description
I don't know if I'm in love with this painting or with this place. I think it's the place. The mighty Colorado River begins just a few miles upstream from this spot. From this little puddle it travels almost 1500 miles to the Gulf of California in Mexico.
That's awesome to me.
The Kawuneeche Valley is awesome, too. It's my favorite destination in Rocky Mountain National Park. It's 20 miles long and one mile wide, more or less, surrounded by mountains and full of wildlife. Every pleasant evening at sunset the tourists appear out of nowhere with their binoculars, cameras and tripods, clogging the road, waiting for the floor show to begin. The deer and elk come out of the trees as if on cue.
It's difficult to decide if the tourists or the animals are the real show!
