I absolutely love this photo of Hazel. My first visit to the Smoky Mountains was in April 2017. I have been searching for a black bear photo for years and this one stole my heart. This beautiful girl was photographed the same year. I am very pleased with the canvas print!!

I found this Great Horned Owl roosting on the Skagit Flats at one of my favorite birding haunts. I diffused the background to add some depth and give the image an eerie look. Their is something mysterious and haunting about owls, their mournful calls in the night, their intense glowing eyes, and their whispering wings carrying them silently through the night. I thought this image captured that dark side of the owl.
About Joel Brady-Power
I come to photography as an avid birder and a commercial fisherman. I've spent every summer of my life since I was two weeks old fishing in the shadows of the snow-capped mountain ranges, glaciers and the rugged coastlines of Southeast Alaska. This instilled in me wonder, fascination, and deep appreciation for the natural world and the creatures that live in it.
