This print is beautiful. It's a commonly depicted subject, but it is very special. The composition, tonal quality, and movement are exceptional and evocative. The piece is true to it's title... breathtaking!

I have wanted this for my pro life bulletin board at my Catholic Church and I wasn’t disappointed. It is beautiful and it has so much meaning put in a picture. A picture speaks better then words and this picture says it all. Thanks

About Spokenin RED
Once upon a time, I was a ballet dancer. I danced for several years until I had a career ending injury. And then I became a director and choreographer but those opportunities are hit or miss and ever fluctuating. I needed something I had some actual control over. And so I picked up a camera and started doing self-portraits...and loved it. It was mine and I could do whatever I wanted to my image, play whatever role I wanted to play and just created my own little worlds. I still teach ballet, choreograph, direct, maybe even dance a bit on occasion, but now I also take pictures and love every minute of it. I hope you like my little worlds and I'm glad to share them with you.

Revisiting and leaving comments on artworks I have favorited. For me I see this as an expression of a woman exploring the mysterious void - the flow of ethereal white 'waves' could be emotions explored or felt, past memories washing over her, or even her trying to get a glimpse of the future by peering into and parting the darkness. A powerful and mysterious piece that keeps the viewer captured by this vision.
Spokenin RED replied:
Thank you so much for such a thoughtful and kind comment, Chrystyne! I did this one when I knew something had shifted in my life--something underground that had not come to the surface but was still felt. I could the sorrow and the disappointment but my brain would shut down on the why of it--I suppose to protect itself. What I love about imagery is so much more can come across and I wanted to have the sense deep mystery in how we know something without fully knowing..that our cognition is often so much deeper and preparing for those shocks. It took months for the source of this feeling to manifest and, when it did, I didn't feel helped for the knowing and that dreaded inevitability. I sure wish it had helped. The deep nowhere is a place felt without understanding or an allowance of full cognition. We do so much to protect ourselves! Thank you so much, for your comments--because they really did flow in the vein that I intended and I am happy that it met its mark!
