Description
What avails the hopes of billions as scientists and big corporates trumpet the advance of technology to feed the bursting multitudes, diving into the fathomless depths of the sea in search of krill and sunless worms to turn into the tinned food of the future when the fields of golden corn and the water-plains of green paddy are exhausted and become the food of the privileged quarter of the Earth of the future? What avails if Big Corp digs its giant metal claws into the ground and brings out chunks of rare earths and iron ore and conjures oil from shale? We were evolved to consume the Earth and bring about the next Great End of Life on Earth - so much is clear. But in the silence of the desert after the storm of human life has passed by this planet, replaced by radioactive millipedes and giant metal-clad worms ...will there be, in this desert, a Watcher Unseen, who will understand the meaning of the Ending, who will walk throwing a giant shadow across the Death Watch Mountains to a magic place under the blind disk of the sun where the meaning of the End will be revealed in a play in which Man and the Apocalyptic Millipede dance hand in hand and the thousand feet of the Other are dipped in blood?

I agree with Ana Maria...there is a wonderous sense of freedom here...you see with your mind's eye. You see this place and you are there. Lovely! v/f

Nice work... The best description is to quote you ... " will there be, in this desert, a Watcher Unseen, who will understand the meaning of the Ending,"
Arjun L Sen replied:
Thanks, Johny. Tobe quoted in this way is a high tribute from someone who has read my writing. Thank you for your appreciation. No small thing from an artist as fine as yourself.
