I absolutely love this photo of Hazel. My first visit to the Smoky Mountains was in April 2017. I have been searching for a black bear photo for years and this one stole my heart. This beautiful girl was photographed the same year. I am very pleased with the canvas print!!

Artist's Description
In around 1993 my studio was contracted to help produce the packaging for The Civil War Series by Ken Burns. Going through the hundreds of thousands of images in my archive, this image, that was not used spoke to me. Let us not repeat this...
Chickamauga and Chattanooga National Military Park, is the first military park in the U.S., Created in 1890 to preserve and commemorate these battlefields. The 5,200 acre Chickamauga Battlefield, scene of the last major Confederate victory of the Civil War, contains numerous monuments, historical tablets, wayside exhibits, and trails. Major points of interest can be reached by following the seven-mile auto tour.
About Arni Katz
Welcome to my gallery of fine art photographs. My fifty year career spans photojournalism, combat photography, feature and documentary cinematography and commercial/advertising photography. I founded Dreamtime Systems, one of the first digital photographic CGI studios in 1991. Additionally, I proudly served in the U.S. Military and discharged as a staff officer. I am enjoying semi-retirement on top of a mountain in North Georgia, occasionally howling naked at the full moon. All images on this gallery are available as original signed and limited edition hand-made matted archival pigment prints. Additionally, special series portfolios will be available. Please inquire. All original prints are made by me and are never produced in editions...

This is a beautiful photo! I am very pleased to feature your wonderful artwork in the ‘Appalachia America’ group! Please add it to the “2023 Second Quarter FEATURED IMAGES Collection” thread in the discussions area to record and exhibit your image amongst the best in the group. Thank you! 4/17/23

In addition to the banner, I am adding this more permanent recognition of its FEATURE on the homepage of A TREE OR TREES IN BLACK AND WHITE. I try mightily to feature only images that would be at home in a juried competition. No doubt that this image fits that bill. CONGRATULATIONS! And consider adding your image to DISCUSSIONS "Please post your featured photograph here" for greater, long-lasting visibility.
Kathi Isserman
