"The Madame Blanchefleur Apolline brings a White Tiger to The Feast of the Epiphany" - by Kimberly Potts Artist.
The Carnival season actually begins on King's Day (Feast of the Epiphany). Fat Tuesday is never on the same day each year because Easter Sunday is never on the same Sunday each year. Fat Tuesday is always the day before Ash Wednesday. It is a season of parades, balls (some of them masquerade balls), and king cake parties. It has traditionally been part of the winter social season; which at one time was when parties for Southern Society women, debutante balls, were arranged.
"The MADAME BLANCHEFLEUR APOLLINE " Is the first in a series of Mardi Gras tableaux vivants representing the season of Carnival.
About Kimberly Potts
I paint things that intrigue me. "Peccadillo" is beautiful to me and lends to my artistic style: An over-abundance of freckles, wild and tangled hair, little spaces in teeth, insecure and slightly gawkish posture, only found in the innocent and insecure.
