Description
This beautiful, yet haunting, old stone house sits across the highway from the St. Andrews Abbey in the hills of Valyermo, California. It has taken me over 4 years of photographing to finally come up with an image that captures the sense of the scene. It's obvious that the residence was built from quarried cobblestones from the Big Rock Creek and surrounding desert area. It was gutted by fire some time in the last 10 years. Only the well built shell of it remains.
