Description
The viking harbour at the re-created Viking village at Bork, on the west coast of Jutand Denmark. On these beautifully crafted Viking vessels, the Vikings ravaged much of Europe and beyond over a period of around 300 years. As the historian H.A.L. Fisher wrote, 'In the first half of the tenth century they went near to bringing down in complete ruin the whole fabric of civilization in Western Europe.'
