This piece is very true to it's picture very defined. The cup itself is of fine quality as well. The story behind it was beautiful to read. When I look at it, it will take me back to the first time that I saw and read the story. Glad I took the time to purchase. No regrets!

PT-728 is a World War II-era PT boat that has an intriguing history. Here's an overview:
Construction: PT-728 was built by the Annapolis Yacht Yard in Maryland, USA, in 1945. It belongs to the PT-103 class of Patrol Torpedo boats, which were used by the United States Navy during World War II.
War Service: PT-728 was completed too late to see action in World War II, as the conflict ended in 1945. However, it was part of the larger fleet of PT boats that played crucial roles in naval operations during the war, including patrols, reconnaissance, and engaging enemy ships.
Post-War Service: After World War II, PT-728 was decommissioned by the Navy. Like many surplus military vessels, it was sold off and repurposed for civilian use. It passed through several owners over the years and was used for various purposes, including as a fishing boat and a pleasure craft.
