A tribute to the infamous Tiger Trout, a man made hybrid of a Brook Trout and Brown Trout! I had the pleasure of fishing a lake in Manitoba that had them and I have a ton of memories! This painting was a commissioned piece for a good friend and it brought back a ton of memories while working on this one!
Hailing from the prairie region of central Canada, Nick Laferriere was raised in the country surrounded by nature. His passion for art started at a very young age with countless hours spent scribbling pictures and getting lost in his works. Nick has always been passionate about fishing but it wasn't until he took up fly fishing that he discovered his niche in drawing and painting fish. He started out by drawing fish in scientific illustrative form. Later, his artwork evolved into dynamic, swimming and action poses with great attention to detail.
