I purchased the shaggy angora goat on the wood mount for a gift for my neice. Loved how the wood grain comes through on the print. Excellent purchase! Would definitely purchase again.

This looks gorgeous printed on wood. It is now hanging on my therapy office wall and is perfect. The color is true to the photo. I love it.
Artist's Description
We have a stable population of Tiger Swallowtail butterflies in the "dark phase". They look like they are dusted with black talcum powder and are often mistaken for other Swallowtails like the Spicebush Swallowtail. All the regular features of the Tiger are present, just partially obscured.

This butterfly is enjoying a snack at a Buttonbush (Cephalanthus occidentalis). We have quite a few places where the Buttonbushes grow and bloom; this one thrives in a drainage ditch on a power line where it gets full sun and has wet feel all the time. Buttonbushes attract all sorts of insects, usually in large numbers, and bloom in late June through July in our area. We count on this particular bush being covered with butterflies on the Fourth Of July - I make a point of visiting it within a day or so of that date.
Here is a nice write up on the Buttonbush:

About Carol Senske
I always wanted to try photography, and my retirement offered an opportunity to do just that. The natural world is my first love. Here you will find pictures of things both large (landscapes, for instance) and small (macro) that catch my eye. I hope the images serve as a window into the natural world many of you don't have the chance to see. In a sense, I'm trying to create a guided nature trail, sharing what information I have about the subject. I'm always grateful for new and better information and welcome all input. Learning is food for the mind and soul. Nothing is ever harmed in the picture-taking process, but some things that wander into our home (like spiders) are carefully removed from the house after they serve as "models"....

Excellent clarity, lighting and depth of field!

They are beautiful creatures. We love them and, since hummingbirds and butterflies like so many of the same flowers, we plant a lot for them. Thank you for your visit!
