The print is much darker in person. It looks like an underexposed photo and hard to make out any detail on the bottom half of the print. Paper quality is good. Fast shipping.

Louis XIII was first invited to the Village of Versailles in 1575 to join one of the signed leaders of the village on a hunting trip in the forests surrounding the village Louis XIII loved the village so much that he returned several times to this location and subsequently ordered the construction of a hunting lodge in the area. A few year years later, Louis obtained the signing authority for the village of Versailles and starting his construction activities to enlarge the existing buildings of the time. The new structures would become the location of the new palace of Versailles.
Then came Louis XIV. He too started expanding the palace and the surrounding buildings. The Palace of Versailles became the largest palace in the world! Louis XIV then moved the court to Versailles where it was officially established in the early 1680s.
