Artist's Description
Finnish ancient mythology: Mielikki was the mistress of forests. As the wife of Tapio, the god of forests- she was prayed for even more often than her husband. Mielikki was a precise and skillful hostess, who knew the secrets of healing and herbs. Other creatures living under her rule were the maidens and sons of forest, goblins, fairys, earth sprites and some believed-to-be-magical beasts of pray.
