I bought this as a gift for my daughter and she loved it. The tuxedo cat painting was beautifully done. The blue and purple background was perfect to showcase the artist rendering of the cat.

This was a big hit as a gift. The recipients had taken a romantic picture in this locale And now they have a beautiful bag to take with them on their honeymoon.
My photographs of old papers, scratched and inked papers, Japanese book pages, and a scrap of red come together nicely in this photomontage. Someone mentioned to me that it's "evocative of a kimono." And yes, she's right. I see it now.
I'm a photographer, writer, educator based on Whidbey Island in the Pacific Northwest, specializing in photomontage work, combining photos I've taken of rust, walls, peeling paint, birds, postage stamps, trees, etc. into images that are completely new, different, and often weird. How many layers? Probably maybe 8 or so. And then there are some that are just partially revealed, others that are extremely subtle. It's difficult for me to answer your question because there are always so many things that go into the making of a piece like this.
