Just what I wanted for a new iPhone. A special “Thank You” to artist ‘Serge Averbukh’ for the addition, at my request, to the design of my Navy rating, the lightening bolts (sparks as they are/were called) in the middle of the CPO insignia. I asked; he came through….When I use my phone, it brings back fond memories of my 20-year Navy career…. Thanks Serge….

is waiting, ready to start the day
in the fields on this dairy farm
in the Appalachian mountains.
Captured in early Spring,
the fog has settled
in the early morning
on the hillsides
and the Blue Ridge Mountains.
This is the Smokies at it's best,
a light mist in the trees
and dew on the pasture grass.
The sun has just risen
over the treeline and glows
over the big bad engine
of this 4450 John Deere.
This one works at a dairy farm,
a 100-year old
family-owned farm
on the edge
of the western Smoky Mountains
near the borders
of Georgia, North Carolina, Kentucky, and Tennessee...
