Just what I wanted for a new iPhone. A special “Thank You” to artist ‘Serge Averbukh’ for the addition, at my request, to the design of my Navy rating, the lightening bolts (sparks as they are/were called) in the middle of the CPO insignia. I asked; he came through….When I use my phone, it brings back fond memories of my 20-year Navy career…. Thanks Serge….

The Yellow-Crowned Night-Heron is one of the two species of Night-Herons, the other being the Black-Crowned Night-Heron. Both species are usually nocturnal, hunting at night and roosting during the day. The Yellow-Crowned Night-Heron eats mostly crab, and the Black-Crowned eats mostly fish. The Yellow-Crowned are with longer necks and stouter bill than the Black-Crowned. Their length is about 24 inches, and their weight is about 1.5 pounds.
This Yellow-Crowned Night-Heron (2nd Year) was catching a crab in the mudflats at low tide at the Connecticut Audubon Society Coastal Center at Milford Point, in Milford, Connecticut. Besides being a nature center, the bird sanctuary at this Coastal Center is located on an 8.4 acre barrier beach, with access to the Long Island Sound. I used a Nikon D810 camera body and a Nikon 500mm f/4.0 VR2 lens to capture this image on 7-23-2017.
