Color Rhythms present the work of two New York City artists who express - each in her own way - the same energy, passion and a love of life and color. At the same time, both painters favor quite different painting styles and techniques.
As a painter, HELENE MUKHTAR uses acrylic paint and indulges in expressionist, abstract brush strokes and explosive colors and forms. She also creates computer animations mostly inspired by her painted work. For this exhibition, she presents a colorful, multi-media installation which combines, paintings, animations and video sculptures. Her action-packed animations are the fusion of abstract computer-generated designs, live videos, sections of her paintings and frame by frame computer drawing rotoscoping techniques.

Carole McDermott works with oil on canvas. This traditional method of painting is contrasted with a contemporary, abstract paint delivery. CAROLE MCDERMOTT employs depth and atmosphere to convey her unique views of nature. "I have no message in my paintings other than to communicate a feeling or a sensation. I paint to know we're not alone. The viewer can relate with his or her feelings and share the wonder.”
