Under The Surface Paso Artist Takes Inspiration From Water Science

Los Angeles / Paso Robles, CA - August 22nd, 2019

More than 70 percent of the earth's surface is covered in water. On a smaller scale, about 60 percent of the human body is made up of water. So naturally when artist Deprise Brescia learned about Dr. Masaru Emoto's work with water crystals, she was hooked on the concept. In his work with water crystals, Emoto believed that different positive or negative thoughts and words could impact the molecular structure of water. Essentially, Emoto's work is about the idea that if our thoughts can impact water, they can therefore impact us, since we are mostly water after all. "I've always been a fan of Dr. Masaru Emoto's work with water," Brescia said. "Just the thought of that is unbelievable. How are your thoughts affecting you?" Taking inspiration from Emoto's work, Brescia's new art show, The Magic of Water, is currently on display at Studios on the Park in Paso Robles. The work in the...

Studios On The Parks Heavenly Bodies Art Show Takes Inspiration From Dance

Los Angeles / Paso Robles, CA - August 22nd, 2019

BY RYAH COOLEY On display Heavenly Bodies, which features the work of artist Deprise Brescia, will be on display at Studios on the Park in Paso Robles through June 30. Visit studiosonthepark.org for more information. Photos Courtesy Of Deprise Brescia PICTURE PERFECT The Flamenco Dancer, an encaustic painting by Deprise Brescia, took shape to fit into a particular antique frame the artist already had. It kept on happening. Even though she was a business major, Deprise Brescia continued falling asleep in her business classes. Oops. "It was so incredibly boring," said Brescia, a Paso Robles-based artist. So Brescia changed her major to dance, and somewhere along the line she fell in love with creating visual two- and three-dimensional art as well. Her dance-inspired art show, Heavenly Bodies, is currently on display at Studios on the Park in Paso Robles. The exhibit takes...

THE DARK SIDE Linda Grone Smith’s piece 'Shadow Self' explores unconscious aspects of human personality. PHOTO COURTESY OF PASO ROBLES ART ASSOCIATION “The whole idea of the show was to be a cross of not just doing really cool art, but of the different ages of art,” Deprise Brescia, vice president of the association and exhibit curator, said. “Where inspiration from modern day art comes from. ArtSlant Watchlist Artist Deprise Brescia

Los Angeles, CA - September 21st, 2015

At its core, my artwork merges science and spirituality for its aesthetic beauty and energetic properties. I consider it transformational, energy art, created to positively influence the viewer and environment. All of my work is created for uplifting places and spaces. I think my art is a bit outside of any box; it’s a modern twist on conceptual in that it does take aesthetics into account, but the energetic properties and meaning take priority in the creation.

Gallery Glimpse The Experience Outside The Matrix By Randy Cordova The Republic

Los Angeles, CA - July 28th, 2013

Gallery Glimpse: 'The Experience: Outside the Matrix' By Randy Cordova The Republic | azcentral.com Sun Jul 7, 2013 1:50 AM Los Angeles artist Deprise Brescia will be featured in her first solo Arizona exhibit with “The Experience: Outside the Matrix.” Featured are abstract digital photographs that explore the concept of looking at life from different perspectives. “It is really about letting go of all the thoughts, feelings and beliefs that keep us limited and what if we made an amazing shift and saw the world as we know it through new eyes,” Brescia says in a statement. “I am a big fan of ‘what if.’ It fills my thoughts on a regular basis and just pushes me to think differently.” Brescia says her curious nature is partly due to her diverse heritage (she boasts French, Italian, Spanish, Irish, Welsh and American Indian bloodlines). She also works as a successful actress, an...
