Joan Wallace Reeves became interested in the fine arts in high school where she studied drawing, painting and clothing design. After many years as a professional Human Services Executive, she decided to return to her first love, the fine arts. Joan attends art classes at various venues in Philadelphia and the surrounding area. Although her perferred medium is water color, Joan uses graphite, oil, and pastels also. Joan is inspired by God's creations which include the sea, landscapes, the human figure and animals.
Joan's work has been exhibited in Philadelphia at the 65th Annual Juried Exhibit at Woodmere Museum of Art, the Members Exhibit at Woodmere Museum of Art, the Senior Exhibit at the Moore College of Art and Design, the 12 Artists Exhibit at Upwyth Art Gallery and the City of Philadelphia, Center in the Park. Exhibits were held in NewJersey at the African American Heritage Museum of Southern New Jersey, the Atlantic City Arts Commission and the Atlantic City Arts Center.
The Goal of her work is to touch the spirit of those who view her work.
