As a child growing up in Kansas, I started drawing in elementary school but formal art training was never offered. I took lessons from local artist Joan Daugherty in the 80's and sold most of my work at local art shows but gave up painting until last year when a friend insisted that I try it again for fun during retirement. The excitement of painting again has created some unusual mixed mediums with unique results.
