Scam Alert!

Yesterday I had someone contact me through the "Do Not Reply " as a customer contact. They wanted to buy a painting that was already marked "sold" . Wanted to mail me a check and they would have someone pick it up! Yeah....right! Big scam...Person called themselves Sandra Rose....be on the alert! The spammer said she was from Columbus, Georgia...sure enough, there's a visit from that town at the same time the first email was sent!

I've had a similar experience through eBay, 'buyer' asked that I forward funds and they would send a shipping company to pick up the product. Common sense should ave the day.........

No spam, just scam :)

Spam is they're trying to sell you something you didn't ask for.
Scam is they're trying to get something, like goods and/or money, from you that they're not entitled to.

This situation, as you've described it, is a well-known, classic art scam.

Definitely. It goes way beyond regular spam if the person wants your home address. GOK what they are really up to, but it doesn't pass any stink test I can imagine, especially if the piece was already sold. Do not respond.

Yeah It was before I had coffee and typed that in wrong!!! It's definitely scam! I fixed it! :)

We don't charge for each task. What kind of work do you need
on a regular basis? Let me know and I'll share my portfolio with you.

I got this too. This is a well-known scam. Got an email from a "James Fleurent" at fleurent3431@yahoo.com - phone # (706)810-6681 from Columbus Georgia area.

I am selling my original pencil art through Fine Art America via the contact me.

Email around May 9, 2018 was like this

from a person going by "James Fleurent" - "How are you doing? :) Having a tough time taking my eyes off your work.I admire it greatly actually because it looks exactly like the kind my mom loves and always talk about, her Birthday is soon and I want this for her, intended buying from the site but they stipulated that I have to contact the artist for purchase.I believe the piece is still available, am actually serious about buying so please respond with your best price so that I can issue and mail a certified check to you for payment."

I sent in the report/tip to the FBI though I'm sure they get thousands of these.

Jeanne Newton Schoborg, basically I believe it's the same person or group. They are using similar tactics.

SCAM, SCAM, SCAM!
