"A Time For Peace" is a new watercolor created by Marilyn Smith portraying a log cabin getaway in the forest, high on a red rock outcropping with the river below and a view of the mountains with a bit of snow on top. The season appears to be early autumn as a few colored leaves still cling to the tall trees and the pots of fall flowers are still blooming. The swing in the tree is waiting for someone to sit and enjoy the peaceful serenity of the area and to put all the chaos of the world troubles aside. A cup of coffee awaits the next occupant of the wicker chairs on the wooden deck of the log cabin. Lights are on inside as well as a warm fire that is sending a trail of smoke from the chimney indicating an early morning sunrise or, perhaps a sunset over the valley below. This would be my "happy place"!
