The second painting in my series reflecting the colors and patterns of the Arizona landscape. The turquoise shapes in the foreground are there because I felt the color was needed. They do nor represent and specific thing.
About Don Trout
Don began drawing in early childhood. While in grade school, he won a Saturday scholarship to the Kansas City Art Institute. Don earned a degree in fine art from the University of Kansas City and on graduating, was drafted into the Army. On completion of military service he moved to California and secured a job with Lockheed as a technical illustrator. Using the GI Bill, he attended night school classes at the Art Center College of Design in Los Angeles. While in the aerospace field he held positions of technical illustrator, commercial artist, and finally art director of an in-house art group. Don enjoys exploring a wide range of styles in his work. He has always painted representational subject matter but in recent years has begun to use...

Thanks Nancy, One of my goals with this series is to create a feeling of deep space. The collaged papers suggest a crazy quilt pattern, very busy, but I thnk the suggestion of cloud shapes and sky help to counter that. I am referring your website to friends. I love that still life "flowers and lantern." beautiful impressionistic flickering light and soft edge flowers.
