This photo was taken in Oxford England in December of 1981. Oxford is a city in central southern England and is well known as the home of the University of Oxford, the oldest university in the country and in the English speaking world! At the time I was on a 3 mo 'sabbatical' from a job, trying to decide what to do with my life next. I decided to spend November 1981 through January 1982 in England visiting with friends and traveling about. During that time I got a BritRail pass and made a determined effort to get to lots of places in Great Britain. One stop was in Oxford right after a snowstorm. It was so curious how the snow had remained on the bike only and not on the surrounding sidewalk! This is one of my few surviving photos that remained in good shape from my slides from 'back then'. It has remained a favorite photo of mine now for over 30 years!
