I absolutely love this photo of Hazel. My first visit to the Smoky Mountains was in April 2017. I have been searching for a black bear photo for years and this one stole my heart. This beautiful girl was photographed the same year. I am very pleased with the canvas print!!

Artist's Description
From a day with a low lying mist on the loch, this seems very common from my time here which leads to great atmosphere and you can understand how legend and mystery have enveloped the area for so many years.

A long exposure was used to smooth the water in order to keep the composition more minimal and black and white tones to suit the atmosphere of the day.
About Chris Dale
I'm Chris Dale, a photographer based in Nottingham, England. While most of my photos have no obvious landmark I aim to portray the different elements that make up a location, from the wider views to small details and abstract interpretations. More recently I have been focusing almost entirely on abstract and project work. It's also important to me to make most of...

I spent a year working in Scotland (Isle of Iona in the Outer Hebrides to be exact). Your photos are beautiful and bring back a lot of very fond memories.
Chris Dale replied:
Hi Justin, thanks so much for the comment, that means a lot. I've only visited Scotland on holidays and not as remote as that, but I have this printed large above my fireplace to bring back my own memories, so I'm glad it works for you too!
Regina Jeffers
What a nice, crisp, clear, and slightly eerie capture.

Love the long exposure which really does contribute to the sense of quiet and mist and mystery. Beautiful composition and I love the bit of warmth in your black and white; it really does make a great difference.
