About Stephen Harris
I began my art career as a sculptor and painter. My early influences were nineteenth century painters such as Turner and Constable, whose paintings of light and landscape techniques led to a desire to further explore light and contrast in a different medium. This led me to black and white film photography. Digital photography further enabled me to explore the dimensions of light and color. My favorite time to photograph is early morning, when there is blanket of mist enveloping my landscapes. This diffuses the light and changes the images in unique ways that give them a mystical quality. I also enjoy manipulating simple objects and everyday items into abstract images. I build on the color that I find reflects the mood of the piece,...
