"Lourmarin Walk" is an original watercolor, 15" X 22", on 300-pound Kilimanjaro cold press paper using American Journey and Davinci paints. The painting explores the many picturesque walkways in one of France's "most beautiful villages, Lourmarin in the Provence district of France.
Virgil Carter, BWS, PWS, PWCS, TWS, is a watercolor painter, teacher, demonstrator, workshop leader, author and Internet commentator. He paints primarily in watercolor, both en plein aire and from his studio in Boerne, TX. Primarily a representational painter, Virgil paints a variety of subjects, but enjoys most painting landscapes and town/urban subjects. He is concerned with telling stories in paint which share a personal idea, emotion or feeling about each subject. Color and light figure strongly in all of his work.
