This painting was done for a fair theme. The criteria was to have five items. A sheep, a feather, a flower, a quilt and a horseshoe. How the artist composed the 5 items in their work was the idea. This is what I came up with. September 2012... My wife and I went to the Puyallup Fair here in Washington to see if I had recieved a ribbon for the fair theme. We could not find my art work so I had figured there were so many pieces that the must have had a second show so all the entries could be shown. The following day I was notified by mail that the Lucky Ewe had been sold to a fair patron. You can still order prints of this work thru Fine Art America.

My name is Gene Ritchhart. I was born and raised in San Diego, Ca. My father was a career Navy man, thus my early years growing up were spent primarily in San Diego. After I graduated from El Cajon High School I joined the Army. While in the army I was the driver of an M113a1 Armored Personnel Carrier. While stationed in Mainz, Germany I found that I could make a little money selling my art work. After the army I used the GI Bill to go to college and attained an A.A.degree in Art. I currently live in the state of Washington where I am continuously inspired by this states beauty. Thanks for viewing my work.
