An old homesteaders cabin,
a bit forlorn and abandoned,
sits along the roadway
in Tennessee
near the tiny town of Farner.
This area is part
of the Smoky Mountains
in the Cherokee National Forest
and is very close to Buck Bald.
The cabin's owner lives near-by
and stopped to chat
as we photographed it.
His grandparents built it way back
in the beginning of the 20th Century
The roof has been redone
and is still intact
but the interior was not safe
to walk into, floor-boards rotting
and ready to split.
