From my guitar heroes series - An original Batik on Silk painting (using French dyes) depicting one of my guitar hero stars "Joe Satriani". It's quiet challenging to say the least to do portraitures using the batik art medium instead of oils, acrylics and even watercolors. I felt extremely accomplished with this piece as I feel that I have captured the correct mood...electrifying yet somewhat mysteriously subtle at the same time. A perfect 'visual' example of how the Man and his music affects and influences my own musical spirit and hopefully yours too!

Thanks Nancy...I used the typical batiking approach (wax & dyes) on silk using very bright french silk dyes which I applied directly. All the details in the face, hands, guitar...well, everything actually was achieved thru the hot wax applications...no other effect methods were used!
